We started September off to a great start by heading to San Diego for the Labor Day weekend. Our first day there we went over to Coronado Beach where, as many of you will remember, was our wedding reception. It was fun to be there with the twins and remember the evening before our wedding on the beach. The day was a bit windy, the water was freezing, and the kids were tired but we enjoyed it anyway. As soon as we arrived both Clay and Claire went down for a nap. Claire did wake up eventually to enjoy the sand and water. Clay, my sleeper, slept through it all, even through the sand blowing all over him. We were still finding sand in their ears days later.
The following weekend after San Diego James left for a two week class on jamming signals in Las Vegas at Nulles AFB. Enter mom and dad who came to stay for the weekend after that much to my needed relief. Both mom and dad were speaking under the Alumni guise here. Whatever the excuse that brings them, I am always excited for Grandma and Grandpa to come visit!! Especially when mom changed her air plane ticket to drive with me to Vegas to join James for his last week of training. That 7 hour drive might have turned into 24 had she not been with us.
This last week the twins have found their voices. While Clay repeats "ba-ba-ba" and "da-da-da", Claire's is more of a shrieking sound. They are really working hard at sitting up by themselves. Maybe just a couple more weeks and they'll have it!
