Last month I gently reminded all of you to remember to keep up our blog and then somehow I've let it slip myself. It just dawned on me this morning that I hadn't been into it for some time. Guess we've been too busy with other stuff.
It was fun to read of the adventures of the Cancun Kids. Darin has showed us the pictures he took so we did get a little peek at what you saw and enjoyed. Speaking of Darin, it is a joy to have him staying with us. He brings back some of the excitement of discovering new things---first time to live away from home, first time to experience college, etc. He doesn't lack for friends, it seems they have gathered from every port he's ever lived in and they see each other often. It doesn't hurt to have a cute girlfriend in the wings, either. Darin surprised Kim with an early morning hike to the "Y" this morning so when they get back we'll see how that went. They went early enough to watch the sunrise creep over the valley from there.
Drew is doing really well this week and has ventured out for a few hours everyday. A home health nurse does blood draws twice a week and faxes it into his Huntsman doctor who reports the findings to us. The last one showed his immune system had jumped way up since the last report so they told him to go and do as much as he feels like doing. They are wondering how those white blood cell counts could be so high but we think it's because he is taking these immune boosting mushroom derivitives. It's all good because he'll be ready physically, if not emotionally, to go another round next week. We're hoping it won't be as hard as the last one.
Doug is busy speaking and, in fact, is in Boise this weekend doing a "Time out for couples". He is also teaching a Thursday night class this month for Westminster College institute. Funny that a Catholic College would have an LDS institute, isn't it?
Well, I'm agonizing over my shortcomings. I need to be three people next month and I can't seem to figure out how to do that. I want to be here with Drew (assuming these treatments are actually doing some good and he's still taking them in October) and my RS calling, and I want to be in Tucson with Mandy while James is gone, and Doug needs me to go to Israel with him. What a delemma. If you have any solutions, let me know. I know you are all helping as much as you can and I appreciate that so much. Mandy, keep those babies in a safe place until help arrives, okay?
I went to the temple last night and felt more at peace. I know that if we will do His work He will do ours. I'm so grateful to know He is aware of our situation and is near by to prompt and inspire us. And I know He can shrink Drew's tumors and keep those twins with Him for a while longer if that is His desire.
P.S. Still waiting on circus tickets from Tim. We should hear shortly.
