Hi family. There is something great about the week between Christmas and New Years. I have really enjoyed this "Post Christmas" week. It seems like the world gets shut out finally. The kids have not wanted to play with friends and the phone doesn't seem to be ringing off the hook. I know that after this week we will jump back into it, but it sure has been nice. The temp has been in the teens and lots of snow. It is nice to be home and warm! I had a great birthday and yes I am 40! I am so happy that I hit that landmark at full stride. I have taken care of acouple of medical problems this last year and now I am feeling really good. The best part of my birthday was an early morning run with my old running partner who moved earlier this year to Ohio. She was in town for Christmas and came to join me for a 5:30 run. As I was heading down the street and saw her coming around the corner I could have cried. I really miss those theraputic runs. It has been way less fun to run alone and I spend more time at the gym and less time on the street. It was a sweet birthday present. I am motivated by the marathon in the spring. I'm planning to start a training schedule in the early spring. I am impressed by you Alaska runners! You may be developing a passion! Dave, how are your knees and what is your schedule? We would love to hear more about it.
Mand-how are things working out for you. I know you are busy with babies but in that nice Arizona weather, this is perfect training time for a marathon. I keep wishing for a milder climate but we sure enjoy our spring!
It was so fun to have Drew and Mom and Dad over for Christmas. It really made our Christmas to have them here. Drew played Santa Claus for us and helped us with Tech Support. Thanks Drew. We love you! Thomas family. We wish we could be at your house for New Years Eve. You are the best partiers we know. Happy New Year Everyone!
