James squadron came home from Iraq this month. Their tour had changed from 3 months to 6 months- so if James would have gone he would have missed the birth and come home to these two. Phewsh! Talk about culture shock.
We're continuing to make improvements on the house and things are looking better and better all the time. We sold our boat and our 4-runner this month, so that has cleared some space. James rototilled our backyard and it's ready for the next step.... which we're not exactly clear on but should involve an extended patio, fruit trees and... grass? We'll see.
James went on his first hunt with a friend last weekend. Unfortunately someone told all the deer about hunting season as the two didn't see a deer in sight. After two days, they came home early and empty handed. The saddest part was that James took one of our 72 hour kits which I'd received 4 years ago with a shelf life stating 5 years. James reported that it tasted terrible and he threw up the next day. A good lesson for keeping up food storage. Needless to say, he had no other food for the trip other than the rabbit they shot and roasted. I thought that was pretty impressive!
And last of all, Clay has a tooth which I found during church 3 weeks ago. James was out in the foyer with Claire and I had to run out and tell him. It was pretty cool.
