Hi fam!
It sure is great to be home! It seems like I've been gone all of June and July; Canada, Dallas, Canada again and I just got back from my EFY week in Cedar City. No complaints, though, its been a blast! Thanks again to Dave and Sandy for being so great to let us come and hang out with your fun family in Canada! We love going through all of our pictures and reminiscing.
Mom & Dad Moon are being gracious hosts while we take over their basement. And we finally have a foundation! I know it doesn't sound like much but considering the time and energy to get this far... I know, we're in trouble. Denise has been amazing at trying to keep everything in line for us.
The kids are all well. The heat is driving them nuts and they ask to go swimming every day. We're going to have to find something for them. They are, however, making friends around the commons area where we are living as well as at the ward we're attending out in Saratoga Springs. We're hoping that will make it an easier transition for them once school starts and when we finally get into our home out there.
Katy had her 9th birthday. She took some friends on a nature walk in the mountains for her party and we all went to see Ratatouille (sp?) that night. We also finally decided to get Katy some reading glasses. The ophthalmologist was less than impressive or convincing that she actually needed them but we decided it couldn't hurt her in the end.
Alyssa is compounding her vocabulary daily. It is so fun to hear what she'll say next. Her favorite words are "cookie" and "no" (but not together).
My EFY week was a little crazy. I've had a pretty good track record but this year I had to send 2 boys home for innappropriate practical jokes, threatened a 3rd for instigating them, and would have sent home a 4th for smoking but we didn't catch him until the Friday night dance. Other than that, I really had a good week with the youth. We had a young man from England, 3 non-members from Italy, and an endowed young man who enters the MTC next Wednesday. Whatever.
The 4th of July was a great time! Thanks mom & dad. The kids loved the pool best of all, I think. But the fireworks were great too, Uncle James, so thanks to you as well.
I hope everyone is healthy and happy. We look forward to the Brinley birthday bash.
Much love,
Jonathan, Denise, and fam
