Merry Christmas is gone and 2010 is here. We had a very festive Christmas with many of our children and grandchildren and it was fun, but I'm glad to get on to a new year. Our Santa Lucia party on the 23rd was great and we had no fires or mishaps with all the candles I like to have around for atmosphere. We had the usual Swedish fare at the buffet table including pickled herring, and the Yultomtin brought in the bags of gifts. Millie drew the part of Santa Lucia so she led the procession for the second time in a row. We are running out of little boys and our girls are growing out of the white dresses. Well, Mandy and Denise still have some little girls coming up, as well as boys, so we may have some lean years but things will pick up in a few years. We had some "orphans" join us so we had a full house and just as we were breaking up James and Mandy and babies pulled up after a very long day of driving from Arizona. We were happy to see them arrive safely and the babies got to say hello to their cousins before the Utah natives left for home and the Arizona babies dropped into bed, dead tired.
Christmas Eve and Day is a blur of treats and food and toys upwrapped, and SNOW. We had two days of non-stop snow. The Arizona babies were not impressed. It will take a little getting used to. Christmas night Drew deserted us and left for what he hoped was warmer climates for some golfing---St George and Las Vegas. The report we got was it wasn't much warmer than here, but they had fun anyway.
We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas holiday and are looking forward to all the adventure and challenges 2010 has in store for all of us.
Valentines Fun!
