Doug and I spent 5 days in Virginia participating in the Southern Virginia University Education Conference. The theme was a patriotic one and Doug spoke on his book now renamed "America in Peril: Ten Stages in the Destruction of a Promised Land". We had a great time and got to have a short visit with Richard Stuart who has been the institute director there for about 10 years now. What a hoot it was to see him and hear about what a wonderful influence he is on the students there.
When we weren't at the conference we were in Richmond with our friends the Stocks and spent one day just doing the sights in Washington DC. We were lucky that day because the weather was nice and the people were civilized. The next day, the day we left, a big wind storm blew through the DC area and tore up a tree on the White House lawn, and the day after that a man was shot and killed in the Holicaust Museum. Crazy.
The Stocks were kind enough to invite Inga and her boy friend over for dinner the Sunday we were there so I'm sending along a picture of us with them. He seems like a really nice guy who maybe could be a member of the church is she was active herself and set a good example. Sadly that's not happening right now.
Well, we are off this morning to Tucson to get Mandy and the babies so we'll send word how all that's going.
